We would be very grateful if you could phone through orders beforehand, or print off this menu or pick one up from us and drop it in as demand tends to be strong at this time of year.
CHRISTMAS OPENING TIMES
As usual we will be open as normal up to Christmas, ie lunchtimes and evenings except Wednesday Lunchtimes when we do close and on Christmas day we will be open for drinks only at lunchtime and closed in the evening.
Congratulations to Sue the Landlady! She is one of the "Chordettes" barber shop singers who won a bronze medal in a major competition in Ireland last month!
We have won another certificate! we are now a S.I.B.A. (Small Independant Breweries Association) authorised pub as we have always supported real ales from independant breweries. and we normally have six differernt real ales "on."
Some Dates for your Diary!
Monday evenings are Boules evenings, held on our new Boules Lawn, now floodlit for these darkening evenings.
Sadly the tag rugby season has finnished now until next year, it was a lot of fun, as well as the camping season.
Every Monday is Curry and Pie Night! choose from a selection of delicious home made curries and pies, add a pint of beer, all for just £9.50!
Tuesday evenings are Darts evenings! starting about 8.30.
The first Wednesday of the month is "FOLK NIGHT" where if you can play a fiddle, accordion or any other instrument, come along and jam!
And every 4th Sunday are the excellant "BLUEGRASS EVENINGS" a similar "open mike" evening but with a bluegrass twist!
On the 6th November, our neighbours Hugo and Ross Turner, along with Adam Wolley and Greg Symondson launched their amazing challenge to row across the Atlantic,
The Woodvale Transatlantic Rowing race: "4 Men- 2 World Records- 3,000 miles- 1 Epic Challenge"
They brought the boat here for inspection and an excellant gathering it was on that sunny November afternoon They hope to be the youngest ever to row the Atlantic and the first pair of twins. We wish them the best of luck.

On the 4th June we had a wonderful outing, a mystery tour taking in an excellant selection of South Dartmoor area pubs.Click on the picture to view the gallery.

The Northumberland brewery has made us a special edition of one of their more popular ales, "The fog on the Teign," (It's all mean all mean!)
Our annual BEER FESTIVAL took place on the 8th, 9th and 10th of JULY 11. On Friday night State of Undress Played, Saturday night saw Spin2, a contemporary folk band and Sunday Afternoon saw "Gidleigh's Turn"play, some extremely talented local people, the lineup changing throughout the afternoon but with a definate "bluegrass" feel to it.
