River Teign

Pete and Sue Welcome you to the

TEIGN HOUSE INN

a traditional Devon country pub, near Christow in the Teign Valley.

We have a convivial bar where you can enjoy a drink and soak up the atmosphere, maybe try some of our Real Ales.

There is a dining room where you can sample our top quality Home Cooked Food, always locally sourced wherever possible.

We have a pleasant Garden set in stunning countryside with a childrens play area.

We also offer a Camping Field, suitable for tents and caravans, set in a beautiful location next to the river Teign.

We can do larger and very special occasions with the use of a marquee in our garden:

- We had a SPORTS DAY on the 29th July 07.
It was in aid of "The Special People Fund" the Teignbridge based charity that helps local disabled children. It was represented by Merv Nosworthy, one of it's founder members, who brought along lots of information. (see the picture in the gallery).
Ron Peake & Colin "Farmer" Edwards were kept very busy running it, ably assisted by many others. The children were put through their paces with sprints, obstacle races, egg and spoon races, wheelbarrow races, three legged races, sack races and even the landlord was seen with his Grandson in the Piggy back Race! Great fun was had by all and there was positively no cheating until the races that involved adults! We also had a bouncy castle that went down well, a barbeque, a Jazz band consisting of Exeter Students Alfie Pugh, Io Pugh and Alex Hawker, We even had a flypast from a local pilot in a rather large plane!

- We held a BEER FESTIVAL on the 13th, 14th & 15th July 07.
We had a marquee in the beer garden, plenty of different real ales, some interesting bands and even a barbeque on the Saturday night. A good time seemed to be had by all, even if the weather wasn't kind to us all the time. Luckily though Saturday was pretty good and we were entertained by a brilliant sunset that night!
